About the wedding by the bride:
¨Growing up in Maui I knew that I wanted to get married on the beach. After visiting Cabo I fell in love with the people and the city. After Erik and I got engaged I started researching venues in Cabo. When I came across the chapel at Cabo Azul I knew that it was meant to be.
My mom and I went to New York to look for my wedding dress. I found the perfect dress designed by Monique Lhuiller at Bergdorf Goodman. My shoes were YSL. Harry Winston designed my necklace, it was my something borrowed. The necklace was my grandmothers & was given to my mother.
My mom gave me the necklace to wear for the day. My something blue was a garter one of my bridesmaids had made for me…I loved it so much that I wore two garters. I threw the plain one and kept the blue one…shhhhh!
Lastly my hair was done by one of my very best friends and my bridesmaid Paige, under some difficult circumstance, but it turned out perfect.
Erik wore a Hugo Boss linen suit. Erik and all of his groomsmen wore matching navy Sperry Topsiders.
My mom and I spent a week together in Cabo getting ready for the wedding. I am so fortunate to have a mother that I get along with so well. I could have spent a month there with just her. There are so many special memories that we made that week, but the one that sticks out the most is when she zipped up my wedding dress. Tears came to her eyes and I knew how proud she was. It was a really special moment.
The morning of my wedding I received a gift put together by one of my bridesmaids. She handed me a beautiful scrapbook filled with “letters to the bride.” Each influential woman in my life had written me a letter filled with wisdom. Luckily I received the gift in the morning and got all of my tears out then.
Although my dad couldn’t be there I know that he was watching me. I felt so fortunate to have so much support not only from my fathers side of the family, but from my moms as well as Erik’s family. There was so much love. I had my twin brothers Matt and Adam walk me down the isle. I felt so proud to have two incredible men give me away. It was one of the most special moments of my life, and one I will never forget.
My wedding day and night went too fast. There was dancing, toasting, and lots of hugs. Erik and I have the best memories and feel so fortunate that 100 of our friends and family were able to celebrate our marriage with us.¨
